Today, first class celebrated International Women's Day. We read a poem about the history of women's rights. We discussed the meaning of the word "discrimination" and how we strive to promote equality as part of our Educate Together ethos.
Finally, in preparation for Mother's Day, the children created Picasso portraits of their own mothers. Cubism and abstract art were great styles to study as there is "no right way". We had lots of fun drawing our own abstract faces and hunting for shapes in Picasso pieces.
