Sinéad's Class: Dare to Believe

With the Olympics just around the corner, we decided to take a closer look at some of the Irish athletes taking part. The mixed relay team was very popular with the children. They even created their own relay games at yard. 

We learned about the history of the Olympics through the "Dare to Believe" programme. We spoke about the Olympic values of encouraging people to be their best self, demonstrating respect to all and celebrating friendship. Something all of the athletes spoke about was experiencing failure and having a growth mindset.

The children displayed the same values during our sports day. They worked as a team, encouraged, congratulated and consoled each other. Well done boys and girls!
