Science Time in Rang Eleanor - States of Matter
In December, as part of our science learning, we explored materials and discovered that everything around us is made of, or contains, something.
Each pupil completed a mini project on a chosen material or element and presented their learning to the class. We found it fascinating to learn about the different states of matter, where materials can be found in our everyday environment, and even about elements in the air that we didn’t realise were there!
Some of the children in the class chose their own elements to research and I could definitively spot the budding scientists amongst the group!
Through this topic, we investigated the properties and characteristics of materials. We learned to identify a range of common materials in our immediate environment and recognised that materials can exist as solids, liquids, or gases.
