Science Blast 2026
3rd Mar 2026
On Tuesday March 3rd, 6th class travelled to Science Blast in the RDS. After months of planning, preparation and experiments it was finally time to present our projects. The class did a great job carrying out their experiment and making our displays.
Our investigation was "what flavour food do birds prefer", while Bláithín's class investigated "what material protects an egg the best".
At Science Blast the children took turns in groups to work at our stand and present our project to the judges, spectators and other schools there. The judges were highly impressed with our project and especially those who spoke to the judges. We were later presented with our Science Blast trophy and received outstanding feedback for how well we presented our project and followed the scientific method.
There was great excitement at the RDS as the children got to explore the other projects on display as well as the many stands from Dublin Zoo, Explorium, ESB and many more. Everyone enjoyed the science shows and Noa and Ciking got to go up on stage to take part in an experiment showing how science can be used in sport.
A great day was had at Science Blast and well done for all the hard work preparing for the day.
