Deirdre's class: Mexican Eye's

We created this beautiful 'Visual Arts' display weaving and constructing Mexican God's eye's from Wool and Willow tree branches.  We are learning about Christianity and Hinduism in Learn Together in 1st class this year as well. Traditionally Mexican tribes believed the eye would protect them from harm.  We later learned that the St. Brigid's cross has the same intention.  It is also interesting for the children to learn about symbolism in art and in different belief systems.  Thank you to our 6th class helpers for helping prepare the branches for weaving.
