Dee's class have been reading and experimenting with all things teeth related!We have been learning about the names of all our teeth, what they are used for and most importantly how to care for them. We submerged hard boiled eggs in glasses of CocaCola for 48hours. Egg shells like our teeth are made from calcium. When we removed them, the egg shells had a black stain on them and the shell appeared softer in some. We then used some toothpaste to try clean the stains. It took over 6minutes to remove some of the staining! This experiment showed us the effects of sugary drinks on our teeth and the importance of brushing our teeth for at least 2minutes to ensure they get a good clean!
