Notice of School Closure Days during 2025-26 school year -Tuesday 24th February and Monday 18th May 2026 (Primary Curriculum Framework training) School will be closed for these two days during the school year for staff training in Child Protection Procedures and the new Primary Curriculum Framework
On January 30th, 6th class went in to Dublin for a tour of the old tenement house museum, 14 Henrietta Street. This helped us get a real life perspective of what life was like in Dublin in the past and ties in with our recent history lessons on life in the past and Irish independence.
We got a guided tour of the building by expert tour guides who shared their own personal stories of growing up in the area and got to experience what life was like in the buildings. We learned about the Georgian period in Ireland and also about the people who grew up in Henrietta Street.
We went to King's Inn Park for our lunch and then did a walking tour of the area, stopping at the Garden of Remembrance, O'Connell Street, the Spire, the Portal on Talbot Street and the GPO before getting the train back to Skerries.
It was a very informative and enjoyable tour and a welcome break from the classroom to experience history up close.
