Skerries Educate Together NS Marathon 2018 – Day 13 update

Hi everyone,

We continued our journey across Turkey today, travelling another 371km and reaching the town of Mucur.  This town has a population of just over 14,000 and is known as a centre for the production and sale of decorative rugs (both religious and non-religious).  We will try to bring a few back with us.  It is perhaps worth noting (and, depending on your perspective, also perhaps not) that we have been travelling for more than 800km in Turkey alone and we are still less than halfway across the country.

The children are certainly covering their daily distance with greater ease and strength than before and it is great to see their enthusiasm out there each day.  Some classes are timing their laps and have set ambitious targets for the pace at which they will try to cover their kilometres and we might publish some of these in the coming days.

Huge thanks to all families who have returned their sponsorship cards, it is very much appreciated.  We will keep you updated with our progress again tomorrow.

All the best,

Conor
