May 6th class Tom
2nd Jun 2026
We returned after the midterm for our last few weeks in 6th class and primary school. This was a month where we started to look forward and prepare for secondary school.
6th class put in a huge effort in their standardised tests and should be proud of their efforts. Skerries Community College also had their open day this month.
In geography we focused on map work and capital cities around the world. We also used the Chromebooks to make presentations on a country they would like to visit.
We continued our life skills workshops and did the first of our School Completion Programme workshops with Sophie. We also had an Internet safety talk from Barnardos.
There was athletics with the finals of the Final league in ALSAA and the Cumann na mBunscoil events in Morton Stadium. Two great days and experiences for those who took part. Our girls and boys soccer teams played their final games of the year in May too.
6th class produced more amazing artwork as we focused on zooming in on detailed parts of still life drawing. Most children used fruits while others focused on specific details in animals such as tigers.
The best day was our Fun Day in the Community Centre. 6th class took part in soccer, hockey, dodgeball, tennis and bouncy castles. 6th class played soccer matches against 5th class and the teachers. It was a great way to finish the month.
