Skerries Educate Together NS Marathon 2018 – Day 35 update
Hi everyone,
We are edging ever closer to Vietnam this week and all the children are making a big push over the last few days. Today we completed our highest daily total to date, covering 747 km and bringing our overall total to 13,283 km. We have crossed another international border too, arriving in the beautiful Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park (a natural tongue-twister) in Thailand for a night’s camping underneath the stars. The park covers 524 square kilometres, is mainly covered with forests and contains the second highest peak in Thailand, namely Doi Pha Hom Pok mountain, which at 2,285m high is over twice the height of our own Carrountoohil. The park also has many hot mineral springs, with water temperatures between 90 and 130 degrees Celsius, which will do us all good after our long trek today.
