Skerries Educate Together NS Marathon 2018 – Day 29 update

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to the updates after the break for Sports Day on Friday (just in case you thought you had escaped).

We added another 419 km today to leave Chandigarh behind and venture further into India.  Our total distance travelled since leaving Skerries is now 10,682 km.  We have arrived in New Delhi, the capital of India and the centre of a metropolitan area of over 26 million people.  Famous (or infamous) for its poor air quality and general pollution (in 2014 New Delhi was named by the World Health Organisation as the most polluted city in the world), the city was designed to be a symbol of British power and supremacy when it was built over a 20 year period from 1911 (thank you, Wikipedia).  One of the city’s largest financial, commercial and business centres is Connaught Place, named after Prince Arthur, the 1st Duke of Connaught and Stratheam (I knew this one myself).

Following extensive technical repair work on the map, you can follow our exact route by clicking on the link below:

All the best,
