Skerries Educate Together Marathon 2018 – Day 28 update

Hi everyone,

We said goodbye to Pakistan and hello to India today, crossing the border after 5 days’ hard running through the country.  We added another 290 km today to bring our total distance covered to 10,263 km (breaking through the 10,000 km barrier).  Today also marks the two-thirds point of our journey and we’re well on target to exceed our target of 13,000 km before the end of the school year (we may even break the 15,000 km mark if our current pace is maintained).

We find ourselves resting for the night in the city of Chandigarh (population of approx. 1 million people and capital of the Punjab province).  Chandigarh is nicknamed “The City Beautiful” and this befits a planned city by the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier and it has a reputation for its stunning, modern architecture and the happiness of its inhabitants and cleanliness (of the city and not the people, I presume).
